Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe comes from an ethnically diverse family in South London in England. Her mother and father were both English. She was born and lived in a housing estate run by the council south of London. At the age 14she enrolled in The Brit School. She attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London where she gained a BA in acting. As a student at the academy and performing in numerous stage productions, such as King Henry V as Princess Katherine as well as Wuthering Heights as Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe's acting journey began in the series Storm Damage. In the years since, she's made guest appearances for Teachers, Doctors, Casualty, and Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's first film of debut came from that of the Woody Allen 2007 film Cassandra's Dream. She starred alongside Colin Farrell & Ewan MacGregor. In the following year she was cast as Elisha (a BBC Three drama-pilot) in West 10 LDN. Additionally she appeared in Trexx as Ollie as well as six episodes of Flipside. Also, the ITV2 series Secret Diary of a Call Girl was her first appearance in the year 2008 as Bambi. Madekwe was also a part of the comedy of 2008 How to Alienate and Lose Friends. A couple of her credits on stage include Little Sweet Thing (by Roy Williams) as well as Flight Path (by David Watson).
Madekwe was officially introduced to her US debut with The Beautiful Life in 2009. The show ran just two episodes on The CW, and was eventually removed from the air. Ashley Davenport, a character from ABC's Revenge drama, was chosen to play Ashley Davenport. The departure of Madekwe from the show was confirmed in May 2013. After two years as the main character she appeared as a guest in the opening episode of season 3. From 2014 to the year 2016, she appeared on Salem on the CW as Tituba. From June to July 2012, Madekwe got married to her long-time partner actor Iddo Goldberg. They've worked together in the show Secret Diary of a Call Girl and also had a role alongside her on the show Salem.
Ashley Leggat, an actress who was twice nominated for a Gemini Award, comes from the large Hamilton family. Four of her older brothers were also in the family including twins Todd and Bram, Brett & Rob. Ashley grew in arenas or baseball fields because her four athletic brothers all played hockey and baseball as well as both during summer and winter. Ashley couldn't walk, however she danced. This led to the fact that when she turned 2, she discovered Baby Ballet. Ashley became a dancer from that moment. Ashley competed in tap, jazz and ballet in the high divisions. Ashley won the best soloist honor at each major dance event, such as International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance and many more, just to mention the few.
