Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco is an American-Canadian singer-songwriter. She has released over 20 albums. DiFranco classifies her music as folk-rock or alternative. However, it contains influences such as punk, hip-hop, and jazz. Ani Difranco has been widely acknowledged as a pioneer for feminist music. In 1990, she was among the first to establish her own label independently. DiFranco was born on September 23, 1970 in the city of Buffalo in New York. She is the daughter of Elizabeth (Ross), who met Dante Americo DiFranco while studying at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Both her parents were both of Montreal from Montreal. Ani Difrasco wrote and recorded the track "32 Flavors". The song debuted on DiFranco's 1995 sixth album Not a Pretty Girl. The song was featured in the soundtrack of the Canadian romantic comedy Better Than Chocolate, released in 1999.
